The Dental Implant Procedure

dental implants in rockville mdReceiving dental implants is a multi-phased treatment. Congressional Dental Care offers full-service dental implant services for the convenience of our patients. All phases of the dental implant treatment can be completed in our Rockville, MD dentist office.

Dental implant treatment will begin with a personalized and thorough dental health exam. Dr. Sarkarzadeh will analyze the health of your jaw bone to determine if you are a good candidate for dental implants. Then, your dentist will discuss the number and type of implants needed for optimal results.

Dr. Sarkarzadeh will coordinate with Dr. Farzin for the surgical placement of the dental implants. Dr. Farzin will place the dental implants into the jaw bone according to your treatment plan. For some patients, Dr. Farzin will attach a temporary dental restoration to the implant during the surgical phase.

The implant will take about 3-6 months to heal fully and fuse with the jaw bone. Once the implant heals, an abutment will be attached to the top of the implant and protrude above the gum line. This abutment is used to anchor a dental restoration into place. Dr. Sarkarzadeh will help you custom design a dental crown, bridge or denture that looks and functions like natural teeth.
