Our dental care team provides comprehensive and personalized general and restorative dental services tailored to each stage of oral health. Family Dental Services
We offer comprehensive dental services tailored to all stages of oral health. Our pediatric general dental services include a comprehensive oral health exam, dental cleanings, and disease screenings. Bringing your child to the dentist is essential for their oral health and development. Helping a young child develop a healthy and beautiful smile can support their overall development and even boost confidence in their appearance.
- Mouthguards– Mouthguards can protect your child’s teeth and jaw from injury while playing sports. All athletes from childhood to adult hood should wear a custom sports mouthguard to prevent tooth loss.
- Dental Cleanings– Children, teens, and adults should get their teeth professionally cleaned at least twice a year. Dental cleanings help to prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and tooth loss.
- Dental Fillings– Dental fillings are a conservative treatment option for repairing a decayed tooth. Dental fillings can be color matched to blend with your child’s natural smile for a beautiful result.
- Wisdom Tooth Removal– Wisdom teeth are typically removed in the late teens or early twenties as they begin to emerge. Wisdom tooth extraction is a routine dental procedure that can prevent overcrowding or relieve impacted molars.
Preventing Cavities in Children
Preventing cavities, as well as gum disease, is very important for your child’s oral and overall health. This kind of prevention is largely dependent on good oral hygiene habits that are established while your child is young. Routine visits to our Rockville, MD dentist office allows us to teach children about the importance of good oral hygiene habits. At each visit, we will perform a professional teeth cleaning and an examination to look for early signs of decay and other dental issues. Early intervention means treatment will be more conservative and it will preserve your child’s natural tooth structure. Parents can help their child prevent cavities by bring them to their regular dental visits as least every six months, helping them to brush their teeth at least twice a day, and help them to floss daily. Also, parents should be limiting their child’s sugar intake.
Our staff will make appropriate, personalized oral hygiene recommendations to help you and your child maintain a healthy smile between visits. The following treatments may be used to support a cavity-free smile:
- Dental fillings
- Fluoride treatments
- Dental sealants
